Thrifty Car Rental

I worked at Thrifty while i was doing my flight training. The casual nature of the work allowed me to match my training requirements to the peak work periods

DHL

I am thankful for the time I spent at DHL for two reasons.

  • I got to learn the joy of working really hard, and the satisfaction of seeing a good job done well.
  • I worked for DHL at the airport. Working airside, seeing aeroplanes in action shaped my ambitions.

4 SEASONS

This job was my first full time job after leaving school. It was great being able to have money to spend and to buy a flash car.

PlaceMakers

I worked at PlaceMakers while i was at school. This was mainly inwards goods receiving and shelf re-stocking. I was then also able to work in the timber yard on the weekends and during school holidays.

General Contracting

One christmas I went and lived with my Uncle in rural South Canterbury. I had a job thinning trees in a pine plantation. We loaded the thinnings on to a truck and took them to Christchurch for sale as christmas trees.

I was a teenager. I knew everything. My boss disagreed.
